Gene Stanley
Founder and Chairman Of The Board
Stanley founded Starrfoam Manufacturing, Inc. in 1983. His vision was to establish an expandable polystyrene plant that was founded on quality and superb customer service. He designed and supervised the construction of the block molding and cutting equipment.
Prior to these efforts, Stanley was involved in glass re-enforced cement products. His unique manufacturing design gave birth to Bloc Bond, a product developed and manufactured for Owens Corning Fiberglass. His first facility was located in Arlington, Texas. Stanley built several other facilities for Owens Corning, including one located in Mexico. From this product design, the concept of single-coat stucco emerged. The combination of EPS rigid foam and glass re-enforced stucco led Stanley into polystyrene manufacturing. He has been active throughout the industry in the last thirty years, and has served on many committees and boards of directors. Starrfoam continues to expand westward, recently completing a new state of the art production facility in Kingman, Arizona.
Stanley was also among the first EPS block molders to develop air quality improvements. With each facility built, he continues to improve energy efficiency and enhance air quality.
Stanley recently celebrated sixty years of marriage with his wife, Joan. He has one son Michael, who serves as President and CEO of Starrfoam.
